Job Title

Technical Lead – Java Microservices

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to drive the modernization and migration of enterprise Java applications to a scalable microservices architecture on AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, cloud-native development, and DevOps practices, along with proven leadership and documentation skills.

This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentoring developers, and ensuring high-quality, secure, and performant application delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the migration of Java 7–17 applications to microservices architecture deployed on AWS EKS

  • Design and develop scalable, secure RESTful APIs and backend services using Spring Boot

  • Build and integrate frontend components using React

  • Work extensively with AWS services including RDS, EC2, API Gateway, Load Balancer, Secrets Manager, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or Jenkins

  • Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes

  • Prepare and maintain HLD, LLD, release notes, and technical documentation

  • Mentor team members, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices in DevOps and cloud security

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business requirements

Required Skills & Expertise

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with Java (8–17) and Spring Boot

  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and REST APIs

  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud services, especially EKS, RDS, EC2, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container-based deployments

  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins)

  • Strong database expertise in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including complex queries and stored procedures

  • Exposure to Amazon Q or GitHub Copilot is an added advantage

Soft Skills

  • Excellent documentation and technical leadership capabilities

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to mentor and guide development teams effectively
