looking for a Head of SEO to lead AdLift’s organic growth initiatives and drive measurable business outcomes. In this role, you will define and execute high-impact SEO strategies across technical, on-page, content, and off-page channels, while managing a high-performing SEO team. The ideal candidate will have deep SEO expertise, proven leadership experience, and a track record of scaling SEO programs in agency or client-service environments.
Strategy & Planning
Define and own the SEO vision and roadmap for the agency and its clients.
Develop long-term SEO strategies (12–24 months) covering technical SEO, content, and link-building.
Conduct regular SEO audits and provide actionable recommendations.
Perform competitive analysis, keyword gap analysis, and content opportunity mapping.
Execution & Oversight
Lead and mentor the SEO team (specialists, analysts, content SEO) to implement strategies.
Collaborate with technical teams to resolve site architecture, crawlability, speed, schema, and mobile optimization issues.
Guide on-page SEO initiatives: metadata, internal linking, site structure, content optimization.
Oversee off-page SEO: backlink strategy, outreach, and link risk assessment.
Work with content marketing to develop SEO-driven content briefs, calendars, and high-quality content.
Ensure SEO is integrated with broader marketing campaigns (PPC, social, UX).
Client Stakeholder Management
Lead client pitches, strategy presentations, and renewal discussions.
Set client SEO KPIs (traffic, rankings, conversions, lead quality) aligned with business objectives.
Present regular SEO performance reports and actionable insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
Educate clients and teams on algorithm changes, best practices, and the impact of SEO initiatives.
Performance Measurement & Optimization
Define, monitor, and report SEO metrics: organic traffic, rankings, CTR, indexation, and conversions.
Leverage data to optimize strategy and drive continuous improvement.
Run A/B tests and SEO experiments to validate initiatives.
Stay updated on algorithm updates, SEO tools, and industry trends.
Team Leadership & Development
Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing SEO team.
Establish SEO best practices, SOPs, and process documentation.
Manage SEO tool budgets and vendor relationships (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.).
Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and data-driven decision-making.
7–10+ years of SEO experience (agency + client side preferred), with 3–4 years in a leadership role.
Deep knowledge of website architecture, crawlability, indexing, page speed, schema markup, mobile-first SEO, and site migrations.
Proficiency with SEO tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics / GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs / SEMrush / Moz, etc.
Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Shopify, etc.) and basic HTML/CSS.
Strong expertise in keyword research, content optimization, internal linking, meta tags, and headers.
Ability to guide content teams using SEO briefs and topic clusters.
Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate SEO metrics into actionable business insights.
Familiarity with conversion tracking, attribution modeling, and SEO impact measurement.
Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
Proven experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing a team.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
SEO certifications (Google Analytics, SEMrush Academy, etc.) are a plus.
