Position Overview: Information Technology Project Manager

The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering technology projects from initiation to closure. This role involves managing project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of IT solutions aligned with business goals. The position plays a critical role in driving innovation, operational efficiency, and project excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

• Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders

• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation

• Coordinate and oversee project activities to ensure timely and on-scope delivery

Team Leadership

• Build and lead cross-functional project teams

• Provide clear direction, motivation, and guidance to team members

• Encourage collaboration and effective communication within the team

Risk & Change Management

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies

• Monitor project risks and proactively address issues

• Manage changes to scope, schedule, or resources while minimizing impact

Stakeholder Communication

• Communicate project progress, risks, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders

• Address concerns and align project objectives with organizational strategy

Quality Assurance

• Implement quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meet defined standards

• Conduct regular reviews and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare project status reports, budget updates, and risk assessments

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation

Project Closure & Evaluation

• Ensure successful delivery and formal closure of projects

• Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned

• Archive documentation and share outcomes with stakeholders

Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred but not mandatory)

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of IT project management experience

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, or networking concepts

• Project Management Tools: Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms

• Methodologies: Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project management approaches

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Leadership: Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management capabilities

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

IT Project Managers are measured against key performance indicators to ensure project success and alignment with business objectives, including:

• Schedule Adherence: On-time task and milestone completion

• Budget Control: Budget variance and cost performance index (CPI)

• Scope Management: Control of scope changes and scope alignment

• Quality Metrics: Defect rates and stakeholder satisfaction
